A little care goes a long way in keeping your litter tray looking great and lasting for years. Here's how to look after it properly.

The best way to clean your stainless steel litter tray is with a gentle spray-on cleaner. Apply the cleaning product to the inside of the tray and wipe down. Dry thoroughly with a towel or cloth afterwards.

Always avoid the following:

• Submerging or sitting the litter tray in water (especially coloured trays)
• High-pressure water of any kind
• Abrasive scourers, steel wool, or harsh scrubbing pads
• Bleach or strong chemical cleaners
• Dishwashers

Coloured litter trays need a bit of extra care to protect the finish. We recommend cleaning the inside of the tray by spraying on a gentle cleaning solution and wiping down thoroughly to avoid water spots.

IMPORTANT: If you prefer to wash your litter tray with soap and water, take extra care to avoid continuously exposing the painted surface (outside) to water. Repeated washing, hosing, or submerging in water can cause the paint to lift or peel over time, even though the tray itself is built to last. Think of it the same way you'd care for a painted outdoor pot or powder-coated furniture: gentle washing keeps it looking its best, but prolonged exposure to water will wear down the coating faster than normal use.

Our Original stainless steel litter trays are a little more forgiving and can handle a more thorough wash if needed. Choose a mild detergent and wash with warm water - just be sure to dry the tray fully afterwards to prevent water spots, and avoid leaving it wet for long periods.

• Dry your litter tray fully after cleaning, regardless of finish
• Store indoors or undercover if not in regular use, to protect against the elements
• Avoid placing your litter tray somewhere it will be exposed to constant moisture
